Oil & Gas
While the Oil and Gas industry in Australia may seem like it’s limited by red tape, long approval process and the high Australian dollar, there is still plenty of work happening in Australia. Just in the LNG sector there are currently more than 10 projects that are either operational or under construction. One such project is the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) Project.
Protocol IT was contracted to build a site office in Queensland to support the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) Project. The requirement for our client in this instance was to build full communications suite with data and telephony. Connectivity was required between their Perth office and Chinese manufacturing plant. With this being a 3 year project, it was important that we built a model that made it simple for the business to close the site at the end of the project and redeploy all equipment elsewhere within a short period of time. Working with our partners, Protocol IT delivered a complete site office solution that incorporated:
- Cisco based IP Telephone system that inter-connects the Perth and Brisbane office
- Full data replication model based on Microsoft DFS
- Continual backup based on the EMC Avamar solution
Thanks to our experienced project management team and reliable channel partners the project was completed in under 3 months.
